Easy Internet Radio

Preamble

Music or radio through Internet is one of the populist applications of the Internet. A listener can turn on to any radio broadcast from anywhere in the world. In order to do that, the listener connect to the Internet, find the site, click number of hyperlinks and then listen. Listeners who seek out interesting radio programs over the Internet will welcome automating this process. Thus, I propose the Easy Internet Radio.

Idea

The idea is to develop a device - Easy Internet Radio that allows the listener to select the radio stations and preset other requirements. (Usually, the listeners want to listen to number of the same stations again and again.) Then, the user has to just touch the physical button, and she/he will be automatically able to hear the station. The need for PC is eliminated along with the process involved in locating the station.

Moreover, even the ordinary radios in use require fine tuning. You need to fine tune to catch a clear signal. I suspect a low quality filter is the main cause. The Easy Internet Radio should have a key pad where the listener is allowed to enter the exact station frequency and be able to listen to local stations instantly.

Technology

Probably, a similar device already exists in market, and I just might not know it. But if it does not developing the idea for the Easy Internet Radio is not that far fetched; although the commercial viability is probably slime.

First, you will need an operating system and software that is capable of accessing the Internet, and then automating the process of accessing pre selected stations. The hardware and software need to be developed for the Easy Internet Radio.

Developing the touch dial access for local stations may require sharp filters, and other hardware. This part is considered an addition, and not necessary to the core idea.
